Wasp Barcode Technologies: The Barcode Solution People
Small Business Showdown Finalists!
We’ve been searching for the best small businesses in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, but now it’s up to the public to decide. We’ve compiled all of the entries in last month’s Small Business Showdown and the team here at
Wasp Barcode Technologies has hand selected our Top 5 Finalists. While all five businesses definitely have the chops to be the top contender, only one can be crowned victor.
The small business with the most votes after two weeks (September 15
th) will be the sole winner of our first ever
Small Business Showdown and will be awarded a new 16 GB iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. The winning business will also be highlighted as our Small Business of the Month. A short write-up will be produced highlighting the top small business and will be published here on Buzz: Small Business Magazine.
Finalists, in alphabetical order with their entries:
Broken Peanut Media
Broken Peanut Media deserves to be Wasp Barcodes’ Business of the Month for a few reasons. Mainly, we have a proven award winning track record in creating online marketing and training videos for other small-to-medium sized businesses- just like us! A talented, small staff combined with low overhead allows us to bring you affordable video solutions without sacrificing the quality our clientele expects of us. We also maintain constant transparency with clients about their projects to be as efficient as possible. After all, we can only succeed if our customers’ businesses grow.
Essential Wellness
“If I don’t work it, who will?” is a question that I repeat several times a day at Essential Wellness. As a neuro-muscular and medical massage therapist, I saw a need for truly therapeutic massage; massage that really makes a difference. Essential Wellness was built to fill this need. We’ve grown every year since we opened in Frisco in 2007! I like to say that I work for all your muscles that are “overused, misused, disused, or otherwise abused!” but really I work for wonderful people who care about living their life better, with less pain and a healthier future!
Green Grass Studios
In 2003 Ryan Iltis, Brian Cole, and Jesse Sandifer left their office jobs to start Green Grass Studios in Iltis’ garage. They quickly established themselves as the go-to visualization studio for architecture, but when the economy unexpectedly shifted, the owners didn’t have time to sit idly by and wait for the market to turn around – they had to quickly adapt to the changing economy. Today, Green Grass Studios is a thriving visual effects and animation studio that continues to see growth year to year. The work of their talented artists has been showcased on commercials, websites, television shows, games, and more.
Quirk Wire Co. Inc.
We are a small wire Mfg. which was family owned and operated for 35 years by the same man. In the past few years he was nearing retirement (reluctantly) and looking to take care of his employees. He tried to sell the business with many stipulations to keep company benefits etc. When “Big Business” made offers, they wouldn’t uphold the requirements for the good of the employees. After many attempts at sales, he decided to sell to the employees as an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Now we all reap the benefits and rule our own destinies. Business is good - and without the ESOP, it wouldn't even exist anymore.
Reno Enterprises
‘Old School’ comes to mind when Reno Enterprises is on the job! Our tag line is “We treat your property as our own.” This approach to the rather unglamorous industry of On-Site Wastewater Inspection services has brought us many new customers. How? By the best advertising: “word of mouth” referrals from existing, happy clientele. We repair whenever practical. We call the customer when repair costs exceed a pre-set limit. No questionable or scary looking inspectors in this family run business. Just well trained and state-licensed professionals to care for our customers’ needs. Those in the know, call Reno!
So what are you waiting for? Cast your vote (one per person) and spread the word with your friends. May the best business win!
