Say Goodbye to Lost or Misplaced Packages in the Workplace

Conveyor belt full of packages

Have you ever waited weeks for a package to arrive, only to find out that it was signed for by another member of your organization days ago? What about the time when your mail was delivered and signed for, only to get misplaced by someone else within the company? I’m all too familiar with this situation.

A few years ago, I ordered some very expensive Bluetooth headphones to wear during my daily workouts. Since I work out at my job, I figured it would make sense to have the headphones delivered there. I purchased the product through Amazon and paid for expedited shipping, which typically requires a signature if someone is available. Three days later, the first thing I did when I arrived at my office was to use my tracking number to check the status of the shipment. The tracking details indicated that my headphones would be delivered later that evening.

Since I knew my package wouldn’t arrive before my work out, I continued with my routine and told myself the headphones would show up by the next day.

The next morning, I woke up bright and early, and I was in a great mood with the anticipation of finally receiving my headphones.

Long story short, I arrived at work two hours early with the plan to pick up my package, charge the headphones, and test them out before I began working.

I walked into the building and made a bee-line straight for the mailroom. I shuffled through dozens of packages, but I couldn’t seem to find anything with my name on it.

After 20 minutes of searching, I ran back to my desk and checked the tracking on my computer. It indicated that my package was delivered and signed for by Alfredo. Alfredo works in our shipping and receiving area, and he signs for many packages throughout the day. When I saw Alfredo, I asked him if he signed for my headphones the day prior. He told me he wasn’t sure, because he signed for packages all day long, but he would look for it.

It took several days for us to find the package containing the headphones. It turned out that somebody else in the receiving area had moved the package.

After several similar incidents over the years, the company decided that we needed to implement a solution for tracking our inbound mail.

Wasp Barcode Technologies introduced Package Tracker, a cloud-based solution designed specifically to receive and deliver inbound mail to the intended recipients.

Package Tracker eliminates the wasted time searching for packages after they have been delivered to your facility.

Email notifications can be sent to package recipients directly from the Package Tracker software, which enables the recipient to pick up a package immediately upon arrival.
